We grew cantaloupe in our garden.
They didn't get very big, but actually produced a bit of fruit. We picked them a couple days ago, and let them sit out until they got ripe. They were ready to be cut up today and eaten.
They were suprisingly better than I thought they would be. Sometimes the cantaloupe we grow tastes like dirt, but these didn't have much of a dirt taste. They were nice and ripe and juicy.
The other day we chopped up a ton of tomatoes to can. We canned seven jars, but only 6 of them actually sealed.
I can't wait to try them in chili or spaghetti.
We still have a lot more tomatoes, so I think I want to try canning more tomatoes.
