Mom's Stupendous Beans

I LOVE beans!  There is just something yummy about them.  These are definitely the BEST beans!

The Ingredients.

Mom's Stupendous Bean Recipe

1 (28 oz.) can Vegetarian Baked Beans
2 (15 oz.) cans Great Northern Beans (drained)
1 (15 oz.) can Baby Butter Beans (drained)
1 (15 oz.) can Kidney Beans (drained)
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup cider vinegar
1 t. dry mustard
1 t. onion salt
1/2 t. garlic powder

Mix and cook in crock pot 6 to 10 hours.  Serve.

You can mix the ingredients in the bowl part of the crock pot and refrigerate them in there, then they will be ready to get cooking the next day.
These beans are also really good mixed in with taco meat and used on a taco!
This batch of beans, I think cooked a bit longer than usual.  So, they weren't as runny the first day (they are still super yummy then), but a lot of the time they are even better the next (or reheated).

Enjoy!

Fresh Picks of the Day - August 17, 2013

Today, from our garden, I picked cucumbers, pea pods, a few green beans, and a green pepper.  It is interesting, for a while I thought the pea pods were done, but there are now a lot more.  Also, the green beans seem to be slowing down, but there are some buds, so I think we will be getting a bit more.

Fun discoveries in the vines!  Isn't it pretty?
